Tonja Barwick

Tonja Barwick joined the HelmsBriscoe team in March of 2004 as a Regional Director, and was quickly promoted to Associate Regional Vice President. She later moved on to the role of Regional Vice President, followed by Managing Director in 2014. Based out of Florida, Tonja supports the growth and development of both the Florida team, as well as Associates based in Nebraska. Tonja’s role focuses on recruitment, assisting Associates with their business goals, and supporting the HB corporate team by upholding the HelmsBriscoe brand. In addition to her leadership role, Tonja manages a diversified account base, ranging from non-profit organizations to corporations and associations.

Tonja has more than 26 years of experience in the hotel industry, beginning with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in 1992. While at Hyatt, Tonja was given the title of Director of National Accounts, which involved overseeing a client base that represented more than $15 million in annual revenue. Tonja successfully made Hyatt Masters every year, and was named National Manager of the Year for 1998. Tonja has been recognized at HelmsBriscoe as well, having achieved the President’s Club award 12 times, and the Master’s Club award twice. She is an active member of MPI, and has also worked on their board to oversee recruitment and retention.
